Listed Building Shooting Lodge
North York Moors National Park, North Yorkshire
Bramhall Blenkharn Leonard acted as lead architects on a significant programme of repair and alteration to a collection of three listed buildings in the heart of the North York Moors. The redundant agricultural barns and farmhouse have been given a new viable use as luxury shooting lodge accommodation for a private Estate.
The buildings have been sensitively repaired with a hot lime repointing to a mix developed on-site and floors laid with a breathable limecrete slab before carefully relaying the original flagstones in their original pattern.
A complete programme of archaeological recording was undertaken prior to the redevelopment of the site. The centrepiece of the development is the dining hall which features the retained agricultural threshing machine.
